TAYLOR HICKS CD'S

Taylor Hicks recorded and released two albums before his time on American Idol. In 1997, Taylor put out In Your Time independently. Recorded live, it prominently features Hicks' songwriting and guitar playing in both large ensemble and intimate acoustic arrangements. Hilights of the album include the jazzy title-track and the classic "Georgia". Hicks released his sophomore album in 2005, entitled Under the Radar. "Hell of a Day", and "Soul Thing" are the standouts on his second release.

Although Hicks released two albums, he did so without a recording contract, which allowed him to still be eligible to participate in American Idol Season Five.

Having been just crowned the winner of the latest season of American Idol, Taylor released his first single "Are You Proud Of Me?" which features the Idol favorite "Takin' it to the Streets" as a B-side. Taylor will be going out on the road with the rest of the top ten Idols, then going into the studio to record his first post-Idol album.

In Your Time is currently out of print, but Taylor himself has said that he's working hard to get it rereleased.

American Idol Season Five: Encores was released by RCA Records on May 23rd. This compilation features the top 12 finalists performing their "best" songs as chosen by the producers of the show. The tracks are culled from the early weeks of the top 12. Taylor is represented on this album with the Doobie Brothers classic "Takin' It to the Streets".
